Holiday Happies 4 - Holiday Dresses

Any girl who has ever had a doll and dressed her up and then grew up to be a real mom of a real little girl knows that the number-one best thing of being a mom of a little girl is this:

Sunday Dresses.

And even better than that are Holiday Sunday Dresses.

In our church group (called a Ward) there are several young girls around Naomi's age. The first Sunday after Thanksgiving apparently several of us moms felt it was a perfect time to dress our little girls in red and black. What a coincidence!

We have some dear friends, the "F" family, who moved into our Ward the same weekend we did. They happened to be moving from New York City, and was in the same church group (Ward) as the husband's brother in the Bronx. (What a coincidence!) They have a little girl "M" who is just a couple months older than Naomi. They are great friends and play very well together.

For some reason, little "M" is very attached to my husband. She will even leave her mother's arms and reach for him! And I should mention she does not do that for her own father nor any other adult man. She just likes him, I guess.

You can tell Naomi comparative interest level from this photo. This is so typical.

Naomi does. not. hold. still.

Little "M"'s mom and I discovered one day that little "M" and Naomi had coordinating dresses. Again, another coincidence. And they were purchased on opposite ends of the country (LA / NY).

People in church had to do a double take that Sunday because they're so close in age. (Many people in our ward confuse our families because we're so similar -- Husbands: tall, sandy hair, glasses, served in leadership roles prior to moving here. Wives: somewhat short, long brown hair, friendly, have impeccable clothing taste for their little girls. Baby girls: active, outgoing 1-year-olds with sandy blonde hair...)

The red and black dresses above were not planned; these were:
